Company Background:
In 2021, Karla Williams created My Next Fit with a clear mission: to repurpose luxury preloved goods and minimize the 17 million tons of waste that contribute to landfills each year. Karla’s journey began after being let go from her corporate role and dedicating herself to her sick mother until her passing. Inspired by her mother’s encouragement, Karla quickly turned her passion into reality by founding My Next Fit.
Karla Williams, Owner and Founder:
Karla Williams, born and raised in Red Bank, NJ, initially aimed for a career in Cosmetic Dentistry after high school. However, during her first year of Pre-Dental studies, she discovered that this path wasn’t aligned with her true passions. Encouraged by her mother, Karla decided to pursue her interest in fashion. She completed an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising at Brookdale Community College, followed by a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Marketing from LIM College in NYC. Her work experience with Authentic Brands Group, T&A Showroom, and F4M Brands has equipped her with the essential skills to thrive in the fashion industry.
